Ashten believes that the fundamentals of a strong yoga practice will benefit every aspect of your life, on and off of the mat. Starting her practice as a little kiddo with her mom, at At One Yoga in 2006, it was evident she always belonged in the studio. Growing up as a competitive gymnast, she fell into the practice of yoga heavily when she realized her physical body was slowly getting broken down. Shortly after her time as a gymnast was done, she turned to yoga to heal her body and quiet her mind. It quickly became evident that the practice was so much more than physical and she wanted to gain as much knowledge as she could find.
She took her 200hr yoga teacher training in 2017 shortly after Modern Yoga opened. The idea is to move the body so that stillness becomes seamless, so that movement becomes meditation, and so that a room of strangers can become family. With Ashten’s degree in human anatomy and physiology, she creates a space for functional movement with deep intention. Each practice is moved through with purpose!

My name is Matthew Ricci (formerly Matt Hodges). I’ve been a yoga teacher since I was a high school student at Chaparral High School. My yoga journey began in 2002 at @1Yoga when I was 17 years old. Since then I’ve lived in Los Angeles and Las Vegas. I’ve taught thousands of public classes as well as thousands of private classes ranging anywhere from basic to super advanced. I’ve practiced physical therapy for over 15 years and I’m very well versed in homeopathic medicine and chiropractic adjustments. I’ve been featured in numerous magazines and books over my yoga career. Teaching is my passion and helping people gives me purpose.
Since moving back to Scottsdale from Los Angeles in 2023 I’ve been in business and poker. I was a professional poker player from 2002-2014 and have been recently getting back to the tables. I currently own a Mexican restaurant in Scottsdale called La Fonda Del Sol which just happens to be the best Mexican food in the valley. I also have an options trading business and Airbnb business. I somehow still manage to teach golf from time to time as well. I got a bunch of golf scholarships out of high school and played on the mini tours in Arizona and in California for years. I’m still a +2 handicap.
Lastly but certainly not least, I’m a single dad to a 6 year old son, Luca and a 3 year old daughter, Luna. They are my life. Everything I do is for them. I spend pretty much all my time with them teaching them about nutrition, fitness, finances, work ethic and most of all being good people.

Kristin believes the practice of yoga in its many forms, provides the opportunity to build trust between the mind, body, and spirit, as its healing and transformative elements pave the way for a clearer dialogue between you and you. Her own journey towards self-discovery began in 2008, when she quickly fell in love with Ashtanga yoga and began a disciplined Mysore practice that would become the foundation of her continuously expanding yoga practice throughout the last 17 years. Her movement journey, however, started at an early age with competitive softball that not only taught her discipline, refining movement patterns, and how to establish strength through lifting weights, but it also provided her with the unwavering knowledge of just how invaluable exercise and movement truly is. Her love for many different types of movement modalities has enhanced both her personal practice and her teachings.
As an Arizona native, she is humbled to be sharing her passion for yoga across many communities within her hometown. Her love for yoga turned into a purpose when she received her 200-hour Yoga Teacher Training Certification through YASA Yoga. For over 15 years, Kristin has been teaching students and sharing the knowledge that she’s acquired not only through years of experience, but through the relentless desire to continue learning. She offers the space for students to learn and growth within yoga teacher training programs she co-leads, weekly studio classes across the valley, and with her extensive online library subscription of yoga classes.
Kristin will inspire you to utilize your breath as you navigate dynamic and creative sequencing, that build upon one another to intelligently strengthen and open the body. She believes setting things up methodically will undoubtedly create deeper connections and ultimately forge a stronger relationship with Self. Her intentional and supportive guidance will provide the space to explore the element of balance within both the body and the mind, while her fun and playful approach will spark curiosity while being challenged to create new movement patterns.

I received my first taste of Yoga thanks to my grandma. I must've been around 6 years old. We would lay out our mats (really just carpet samples), and follow along with the 'Yoga Lady' on Public Television.
Years later, while in massage school, I was reintroduced to Yoga and I was hooked. I maintained a dedicated personal practice for years, eventually enrolling in the Teacher Training Program at the Southwest Institute of the Healing Arts in Tempe, AZ, where I received my 200 hour Teaching Certificate in the summer of 2012. I have since earned my 500 hour Teaching Certificate from Dave's Astanga Authentic Yoga Teacher Training, in Scottsdale, AZ.
In addition, I hold a Yin Yoga Certificate thru training received from Bernie Clark in Vancouver, BC and received my Restorative Yoga Training from Judith Lasater in San Francisco, July 2018.
While I initially thought I enrolled in Yoga Teacher Training (YTT) to deepen my own practice, I soon realized that what I really wanted was to share my passion for Yoga. I wanted to teach! ...And I DO!!!
I am very fortunate and happy to be teaching a variety of Yoga classes at several different studios, for corporate clients, online and have led trainings, workshops and retreats in the US & abroad.
The classes I teach are designed and delivered as authentically as I can deliver them. In my own voice, from an honest place. There is usually an element of fun and playfulness, and they are built around my own personal philosophies of Less is More, and Simple is Good.

Description tI started practicing yoga in 2002 on a whim, my roommate at the time had a 2 weeks for 20 and was going daily. At the time I had suffered a back injury and she thought it would help, she invited me and that was it, down the rabbit hole I went.
In my earlier years I was a competitive skateboarder, oddly enough yoga practice reminded me of skateboarding, the individuality, self expression and creativity. Needless to say I was hooked.
Through the years, 20 so far, yoga has always been a beacon of stability and pleasure, like most things the narrative shifts. But my love and dedication did not.
In 2010 I took my first teacher training, and have never stopped learning and absorbing this beautiful practice. It’s truly the thing that keeps me steady and happy and thirsty for more!ext goes here.
